Weathering With You

I have always loved rainy days. To me, rain is something deeply romantic — it connects the sky and the earth, turning the ordinary world into something soft, quiet, and almost sacred. Weathering with You made me feel the beauty of rain even more vividly, and through its countless scenes of Tokyo under the weather, I also felt the delicate beauty of Japan itself. What moved me most was the pure and unwavering love between the two protagonists. The boy’s choice — to value the person he loves more than the world itself — left a deep impression on me. It was reckless, simple, and profoundly moving.
Dune

The world of Dune left me with an overwhelming sense of awe. Its vast deserts, ancient prophecies, political struggles, and almost religious atmosphere made the universe feel both distant and deeply alive. What moved me most was Paul Atreides’ transformation — from a young boy who could not yet face the burden of his family, into the prophesied savior who eventually sets the galaxy on the path toward holy war. After watching both films, I began to explore the story beyond them, and the fate of Paul’s son, Leto II, struck me even more deeply. He created a golden age through unimaginable sacrifice, yet his endless life was gradually worn down by loneliness. As an almost all-knowing and all-powerful being, his choice to welcome death and bring his own life to an end felt profoundly tragic. To me, Dune is not only a grand science-fiction epic, but also a story about destiny, power, sacrifice, and the unbearable solitude of those who can see too much.
Castle In The Sky

Castle in the Sky feels deeply romantic to me. For reasons I cannot fully explain, I have always longed for and believed in the existence of a castle floating somewhere in the distant sky — hidden above the clouds, quiet and unreachable, like a dream that still belongs to the world. This film gives shape to that imagination with a rare kind of tenderness. What moved me most was the pure and innocent bond between the boy and the girl. In order to stop the ambitions of those who sought to misuse Laputa, they held each other’s hands and calmly faced the possibility of death together. That moment left a deep impression on me. To me, Castle in the Sky is not only an adventure about wonder and lost civilizations, but also a story about courage, purity, and the kind of love that chooses to protect something beautiful, even at the cost of everything.
